This 1965 Benelli 205cc is located in Minneapolis on Craigslist. In “nearly rideable”condition,it’s for sale at $1500. Seems to be a fair price for a pretty complete winter project.
Owner says that this is a re-badged Motobi that was picked up by Benelli when Motobi went out of production —the leftover units were sold by Benelli (I do not know this to be a fact,will need to do a little research here!). I have trouble with this statement as MotoBi won the 1965 250cc Italian Championship and was in business in one form or another until 1977.
The engine runs,but owner states that it needs lots of little things,most of it being electrical work (which,if you really think about it,is about 2 days worth of work to completely re-new the electrics —everything is on eBay and there are only about 10 circuits —it’s not like re-wiring an Iso Rivolta!)
Didn’t write up any information on the title,so make sure you ask. A nice set of rearsets,seat and handlebars give you a killer little Italian Cafe.
