“Tired dirty and happy they finished the first running of the NORRA Mexican 1000.” The winning time, set by Vic Wilson and Ted Mangels in a Meyers Manx was 27 hours and 38 minutes. The 50th Anniversary of the 1967 NORRA Mexican 1000 is only three weeks away. “Some day when a broad modern highway runs the length of the Baja California, these men, these conquistadores, will be remembered with the same respect as those pioneers who crossed the American plains more than 100 years ago.” Check out the conquistadores here and be inspired.
