This 1966 Norton N15CS is a matching-numbers example that was purchased 30 years ago as an unfinished project and gradually refurbished back to stock condition by the seller. Powered by a 745cc parallel twin with a 4-speed transmission, the bike features a rebuilt engine bored .20 over with sleeved carburetors and a rebuilt magneto. New fork tubes, fenders, shocks, chain guard, and the seat were sourced from marque specialists Walridge Motors. This N15CS is offered with copies of the service manual, parts manual, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. The N15CS is a scrambler variant of the Norton Atlas that utilized a Matchless G12CS frame fitted with the engine, forks and brakes from the Atlas. At one time this example was modified as a chopper with longer fork tubes, cut-down fenders, and a banana seat. The frame was left un-unmodified, and the fuel tank, oil tank, and battery box are original to the bike. New fenders, seat, shocks, chain guard, and fender braces were sourced from Walridge Motors in Canada, and the bodywork repainted in the correct shade of Cardinal Red. The seller notes minor corrosion is visible on many fasteners. Both the speedometer and tachometer are replacements and have been rebuilt. 5253 miles are shown but the true mileage is unknown. The front end features new fork tubes, seals, and gators. The seller notes that there is a ding on the front wheel and the fasteners for the fender bridge are incorrect. Wire-spoke wheels wear new Dunlop Trials Universal tires. Power comes from an air cooled 745cc OHV parallel twin with a 4-speed right-side shift transmission. The matching numbers engine was rebuilt with .20 over pistons, and the worn Amal Monoblock carburetors re-sleeved with a float bowl extension fitted to the master carburetor. The wiring harness is an un-cut original, and the Lucas K2F magneto was rebuilt. The bike came from the factory without mufflers but period replacements were fitted to keep the peace. The original exhaust pipes and a spare cylinder head will be included with the sale. Copies of the maintenance manual and parts book are included, but no service records are available as much of the work has been performed by the seller.
