This 2007 Ducati SportClassic 1000 Biposto was purchased new by the seller from Fast by Ferracci in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania and shows less than 5k miles. Modifications include a custom-made polished aluminum fuel tank and Monster S2R Showa forks, while power is provided by a fuel-injected 992cc L-twin paired with a 6-speed gearbox and equipped with a Ducati Performance open airbox and stainless Conti-style exhaust pipes. A new chain and cam belts were installed in mid-2018. This SportClassic is now being offered in California with removed factory parts and a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The polished aluminum fuel tank is reportedly one of approximately 100 units formed in the shape of a stock plastic item by an Italian manufacturer. The Ducati logo was hand-applied onto the tank by a local sign painter, and has since worn from polishing. A ding is reportedly present in the tank.
The factory Marzocchi forks have been replaced with a set of adjustable Showa units from a Monster S2R. Continental Sport Attack tires are installed on the factory wire wheels; the model specific Pirelli Phantom Sportscomps were removed at 1,200 and are included with the sale. A yellow tint has been added to the headlight, which is removable.
Twin gauges resemble the Veglia units used by Ducati in earlier times, and include a digital odometer showing less than 5,000 miles. Vintage NOS Tommaselli handgrips replace the included factory pieces.
The fuel-injected 992cc Dual-Spark L-twin is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Upgrades performed by the seller include a freer-flowing Ducati Performance airbox lid designed for this bike and a set of stainless Conti-style pipes from Keihan Systems (with uninstalled, but included baffles). The exhaust wrap is Thermo Tec carbon fiber to help dissipate of heat generated on longer rides. An o2 sensor manipulator from FatDuc has been installed to enable the fuel/mixture adjustments required by the airbox modification and freer-flowing exhaust. New cam belts and a replacement drive chain were installed approximately nine months ago.
The stock front fender, forks, and removable tail section are included in the sale along with the original fuel tank, which is pictured in the gallery.
