This 1970 Harley-Davidson/Aermacchi Sprint SS350 was purchased by the seller as an unfinished project 3 years ago and completed with fresh paint, upholstery, and mechanical work. The bike is powered by a 350cc single with a 4-speed transmission, and maintenance by the seller has included a carburetor rebuild, new ignition points and condenser, and adjustments made to the valves and timing. This 350 Sprint is now offered with receipts from the refurbishment, the factory service manual, parts manual, and a Maine bill of sale.
The frame was refinished by the prior owner, and Brent Budgor of the Vintage Vendor in Burlington Vermont completed the painting and striping of the tank, fenders and side covers. The seat was recovered in black naugahyde with white piping, and extra foam was added for comfort. The header pipes wear wrap to conceal discoloration of the chrome. The mufflers are replacements, but the left muffler has a dent from the kick starter. The forks were rebuilt with new springs, seals, and boots, and a new chain and rear shocks were also added.
Both brake drums were cleaned and the shoes inspected for wear. The wheels were rebuilt with new rims, and wheel bearings. New Dunlop K70 tires were installed with fresh tubes and rim strips.
Replacement handlebars were sourced and feature new Ourey grips and a bar-end mirror. Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer and a 10k-rpm tachometer. The tachometer drive was recently replaced, and 6k miles are currently shown on the odometer.
Power comes from an OHV 344cc horizontal single mated to a 4-speed transmission with a right-side shifter. The carburetor was cleaned ultrasonically and rebuilt before a new air filter was fitted. The charging system was renewed with a new voltage regulator, a shunt generator, and a fresh 6 volt battery. Recent work included replacing the points and condenser, an oil change, and adjustments to the valves and ignition timing.
Various spares will be included as well as a factory service manual, parts manual, and receipts for the refurbishment. A cold start and brief riding video are provided below.
