This 1982 Honda CB650-SC Nighthawk was purchased by the selling dealer one month ago from the reported third owner. Powered by a 626cc air-cooled 4-cylinder with a 5-speed transmission, this first year model differs from later versions with a single overhead cam and chain final drive. Recent work performed included replacing the spark plugs and chain, as well a carburetor cleaning and an oil change. Just over 18k miles are currently shown, of which the seller has added 50. This Nighthawk is now offered at no reserve with the owner’s manual, toolkit, and a clean Wisconsin title.
Finished in Cosmo Black Metallic with chrome accents, the bodywork is reported to have scuffs and worn chrome on the front fender and right side lower exhaust. Features include Showa adjustable air-spring forks, dual front disc brakes, and Comstar mag wheels. The battery and both tires were recently replaced.
The 85-mph speedometer is complemented by a 10k-rpm tachometer. Replica hand grips are fitted, and the two piece handlebars offer adjustment for both height and spread. 18k miles are currently shown on the odometer.
Unique to the inaugural year of the Nighthawk was a SOHC 626cc 4-cylinder with a 5-speed transmission and chain drive. It was also the final year for Honda’s iconic 4-into-4 exhaust pipes. The engine was factory-rated at 63 horsepower and features four Keihin 29mm carburetors. Prior to this auction, the seller cleaned the carburetors, changed the oil, and added new spark plugs and a drive chain. Documents for recent work are available in addition to the factory owner’s manual and tool kit.
