This 2008 Ducati Desmosedici RR is #250 out of the 1,500 produced during a two-year production run. Finished in Rosso GP with a white tail section, the bike was purchased new by the seller for his private collection and now has just 16 miles. It carried an MSRP of approximately $72k when new, and standard equipment includes carbon fiber bodywork, Marchesini wheels, Öhlins suspension, and Brembo brakes. Power is from a 989cc desmodromic V4 paired with a slipper-clutch and six-speed cassette gearbox. An August 2019 service included a new battery and fluid change. This Desmosedici RR is now offered with service records, factory books and accessories, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.
The model was only available in Rosso GP, with or without a graphics package. Bodywork is molded in carbon fiber with a ceramic-carbon blend utilized for the tail section, which houses the exhaust silencer. Twin headlights, a tail lamp, turn signals, and a license plate mount all came fitted by the factory. Photos of the bike with the side fairings removed are provided in the gallery below.
The rear shock and TiN-coated 43mm USD forks were supplied by Öhlins, each featuring preload, rebound, and high/low compression adjustments. Brembo 4-piston monoblock brake calipers are actuated by a radial master cylinder and clamp down on 330mm rotors up front. Forged and machined 7-spoke magnesium wheels from Marchesini measure 17″ in the front and 16″ out back. Dry weight was reported by the factory to be just 377 pounds.
Instrumentation is provided by a Ducati Corse multifunction display, and just 16 miles are shown on the odometer. A plaque on the upper triple tree shows that this Desmosedici RR is the 250th of 1,500.
The 90-degree “Twin Pulse” V4 features a sand-cast case and cylinder heads, titanium Pankl connecting rods, four gear-driven camshafts, and desmodromic actuation to control the 16 titanium valves. Power is delivered to the 6-speed cassette-type gearbox through a dry multi-plate slipper clutch. Ethanol-free fuel has been used exclusively during the seller’s ownership, and service in August of this year included a new battery and a complete fluid change.
The factory-supplied books and accessories are included with the sale.
