This 1958 Parilla Gran Sport was originally delivered with a 175cc single-cylinder engine, but has been fitted with a 250cc High-Cam single and four-speed transmission from a later Parilla. Per the seller, the bike was part of a private collection and was displayed in the owner’s living room for the last 11 years. Since acquisition the selling dealer has replaced the battery and filled the bike with fresh fuel, but has not gotten it running due to a missing kick starter. This Parilla is offered by the selling dealer in Oregon with a clean Colorado title.
The bike is finished in red with a matching frame, an alloy rear fender, and black accents. A touched up scratch is present on the right fork. The suspension consists of front telescoping forks, and a dual-sided rear swingarm with dual coilover shock assemblies.
The wheels feature alloy hoops measuring 19″ in diameter front and rear, and are fitted with a 2.75-19 Pirelli tire at the front, and a 3.00-19 Pirelli dual-sport tire at the rear. Braking is by drums both front and rear.
The sole instrument is a semi-circular, 13k-rpm Parilla-branded Smiths tachometer. Conventional controls are mounted to the low clip-on bars, and mileage is unknown.
The original 175cc powerplant has been replaced with a later 250cc unit per the crankcase VIN stamping of 250805. Drive is sent rearward via a 4-speed transmission with chain primary drive. The seller notes that the engine turns freely and has sputtered during attempts to push-start the bike. The seller has replaced the battery and refilled the bike with fresh gas, but due to a missing kick starter the bike has not been started.
